We hope to build mutual-benefit and value-added relationships with the press/media. Actually, it’s not just about Yplatform, but really about whether and how Yplaform (and our various initiatives including Ychallenge 2013) can bring useful values/information to the community through media channels. (Yplatform reaches out to a strong pool of talented local and international youth, as well as a growing network of international experts who are interested in Vietnam, so there’s still a lot more potentials in how Yplatform can create values to the audience).
To succeed in this role, it would be an advantage if you have past experience in working with the press/media in Vietnam (print, broadcast & online), especially business-oriented newspapers/media channels. You understand about the press/media and you know about the value creation of Yplatform and our various activities/initiatives.

Outreach coordinators (businesses & institutions) (HCMC & Hanoi, preferably in HCMC) (application deadline: Friday, 16 August 2013, 11:59pm)
In this role, you will be reaching out to various stakeholders such as Vietnamese companies, business associations, universities & other academic institutions, potential venue sponsors, and other supporters in terms of financial or in-kind, etc. It’s not just about what Yplatform can “get”, but really about how Yplatform can create benefits and add values to our partners as well. It’s about building long-term relationships and growing together in the long-run.
You would understand about the value proposition of Yplatform and how we can add values/bring benefits to the partners companies through our various activities (including the upcoming Ychallenge 2013 international business case competition). You would ensure their satisfaction throughout their engagement with Yplatform, and you would also have chances to propose recommendations/modifications/additions to Yplatform’s programs/activities in order to achieve such goals. And you would also play an important role in ensuring the financial sustainability for Yplatform as a whole.

Community organizers/developers (HCMC & Hanoi) (application deadline: Friday, 16 August 2013, 11:59pm)
One of the goals of Yplatform is to build up a strong community of talented youth who are passionate about increasing Vietnam’s competitiveness in multiple aspects. You will be like the main “drivers” for this initiative. So in this role, you would understand about the youth, find ways to connect and engage them (in alignment with The Yplatform Vision) as well as brainstorm/develop frequent programs/activities that can help build up such community, and to liaise with various youth groups that share similar goals, etc. [Note that the “youth” here include both students and young professionals.]
You may also be supporting various other Yplatform initiatives (such as the Ychallenge 2013 business case competition, e.g. liaising with competition’s participants and organizing value-added activities).

Event operations manager(s) (HCMC only) (application deadline: Friday, 16 August 2013, 11:59pm)
We are looking for an event operations manager who can take the lead in managing the event operations of Ychallenge 2013 business case competition in HCMC (Vietnam), specially in December 2013. This year, we will organize both the semi-final round and final round, as well as the field trip, in Ho Chi Minh City, for lots of international participants/experts, so your role would be a lot more important and strategic. In this role, you would be liaising with various other departments/teams within Yplaform in order to put together a successful event. You will be managing all logistics, welfare, and operations aspects so as to ensure that the Ychallenge 2013 event is smoothly run and our participants and partners are satisfied.
To succeed in this role, it would be an advantage if you have experience or know-hows in leading teams and/or organizing large-scale events, and ensuring the quality as well as the satisfaction of those involved. You would also be good at managing the costs so that we can have a successful event but with minimal expenses.

Media producers / Designers / Writers (HCMC, Hanoi & everywhere)
You would help to inspire the world and the community through your articles, designs and media products (e.g. video clips, infographics, etc.) Actually, it’s not much about Yplatform, but really about whether and how Yplatform can create inspiration and bring real values to the community through such articles/designs/media products. You would play a very important role in communicating the message from Yplatform to the community, and help transform complicated information/concepts into easy-to-understand and inspiring messages. Technologists (HCMC, Hanoi & everywhere)
There may not be a “job description” here. So let’s put it this way: If you think yourself as a “technologist” and you can think of a way in which technology can help further the cause of Yplatform as a whole, please let us know. Think of it like a “blank sheet of paper” and we would love to hear any suggestions/proposals.
